Laura Ann Saxon, of North Tonawanda, age 43, passed away February 12, 2013 following a long illness. Laura was born on March 28, 1969 in North Tonawanda, daughter of Mary Katherine (nee Nezezon) Saxon and the late Robert A. Saxon Jr.

Laura was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Canisius College and an additional business degree from Bryant and Stratton. Laura began her career processing claims for several major healthcare companies, she then went to work for Sado Sales, a company her father owned. Laura eventually went to work for the Federal Government as a benefits specialist for the Department of Veterans Affairs, her focus was education benefits to veterans. Laura was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Parish. Her hobbies included gardening, shopping, swimming, travel and her dog, Lucky.

Beloved daughter of Mary K. and the late Robert A. Saxon; loving companion of 23 years of Joe Masich; devoted mother of Candace Pauline Masich; granddaughter of Marie and the late Stephen Nezezon and late Robert and late Louise Saxon; very best friend to Deanna Rey. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Family and friends may call on FRIDAY 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the WATTENGEL Funeral Home 307 Oliver St. North Tonawanda. Mass of Christian Burial on SATURDAY at 11:00 AM from St. Jude the Apostle Parish, 800 Niagara Falls Blvd. (Please assemble at church.) Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cleveland Clinic Genomic Medicine Institute, Dr. Charis Eng, in memory of Laura Saxon, C/O Jessica Mester Cleveland Clinic, 9500 Euclid Ave. NE50, Cleveland, OH 44195.
