Edward J Belbas Obituary   February 9, 1947 - June 29, 2024

Edward J. Belbas, "Eddie B", of North Tonawanda, on June 29th, 2024. He was the son of the late Edward and Jessie Belbas. Loving father of Teresa Belbas. Brother of Gloria (William) Winkowski, Karen Belbas, John Paul Belbas. Cherished dog-dad to Lucy. He will also be missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, many friends and former students.

Edward was a Vice-principal at North Tonawanda High School for many years, as well as an educator. He taught archery at Niagara County Community College and spent time as a real estate agent. He served in the United States Army as an Army Intelligence Officer. Edward was an avid Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan. He enjoyed coaching basketball and baseball, which won him the nickname “The Coach” by his family. Edward was an outdoorsman at heart, spending a lot of time at his property in Belmont, NY. He loved to hunt and fish any chance he could. He was a member of the Tonawanda Sportsman’s Club and served as The Tonawanda Sportsmen's delegate to the Niagara County Federation of Conservation Clubs for many years. He also spent time on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club. His bright smile will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Friends may call at Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver Street, corner of Ward Road, on Tuesday, July 2nd, from 3:00PM – 8:00PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd, at Saint Jude the Apostle Church at 11:30AM.
